Nearer to home...
This is taken from our bedroom in
The Mill. It would normally be a picture of a grass lawn and orchard
area, with a maize field beyond the trees. To get this high we think
the river is about 9 ft above normal. It just pours over its banks
into our main field (centre, middle distance through the trees)
and floods that to a depth of 4 or 5 ft. It's a seven acre field
and I reckon about 4 or 5 acres were under water when I last looked.
It needs to rise about another 2
- 3 ft to threaten property.
