Now, sorry, the small print.

How to book

Telephone us (0845 123 5639 - leave a message if we are not around) or email us (cottage-bookings@onlybowls.com) and tell us which cottage you would like and for which dates.

If the cottage is available for those dates we will provisionally book it in your name. This provisional booking will hold the cottage for you for up to seven days. If there is less than four weeks before the start of your holiday the provisional booking will only hold the cottage for you for 4 days.

Print off the booking form (see the link above) and complete it. Send the booking form to us with a deposit of £25 per person. We will formally acknowledge receipt and send you a map and a wildlife chart.

If we do not receive the booking form and deposit within seven / four days we will assume that you do not wish to proceed with the booking.

Send the remaining balance for your holiday to us, at the latest, four weeks before the start of your holiday. We will formally acknowledge receipt. If full payment is not received by the due date we will assume that you do not wish to proceed with the booking. Your deposit of £25 per person will not be returned.

If you book the holiday less than four weeks before the start date you must send the full remittance with the booking form.

Short breaks

During periods marked with an orange date on the tariff page we offer short breaks. These can only be booked as late availability holidays within 4 weeks of the start date. The rate is pro-rata, with a minimum charge of half the appropriate weekly rate, and full payment is due with the booking.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel the holiday -

a) If you do so more than four weeks before the planned start date you will lose your deposit of £25 per person. Any other monies already paid will be returned to you.

b) If you do so with less than four weeks before the planned start date there will be no refund.

Conditions

Prices include electricity, gas, bed linen, towels and, for holidays of a week or more, a welcome pack of groceries.

For two week holidays we supply clean linen and towels on the middle Saturday.

Holidays commence at 4pm on Saturdays, except for short breaks which are negotiated individually.

Please vacate the cottages before 10am on the final day of your stay.

If you bring a dog on holiday with you it must not be left in the cottage on its own at any time.

Please advise us of any breakages or damage so we can maintain our high standards by repairing or replacing before the next holiday commences. We reserve the right to impose a charge for breakages or damage.

No smoking is allowed in the cottages at any time.

We take your safety seriously. Both cottages are fitted with a smoke alarm (tested before each holiday), a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. All our gas and electrical appliances are checked regularly. We ask that if you bring any electrical appliances that they are safe. Please do not bring an appliance if the mains lead is frayed or loose. Please ensure that neither you nor other guests tamper in any way with the safety equipment - in particular the smoke alarms.

We have checked both our brochure and our website for accuracy, but we hope you will understand that we reserve the right to make changes to any and all facilities. However, the standard of accommodation should never be less than that advertised.

Should any problem arise during your holiday do not hesitate to contact us at The Mill. We live on the premises and we will do our very best to rectify the problem as soon as we can.

We have geese, sheep, cows, dogs, some unfenced ponds, unfenced steep banks and unfenced riverbanks on our property. We therefore recommend that you consider this carefully if you have young children.

We have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that your stay at our cottages will be enjoyable and safe, but we cannot accept liability for accidents or losses caused by circumstances beyond our control.

None of these conditions override your statutory rights.
